Dr. Elias Berdouses received his Dental Degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Dental School, his Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry and Master’s in Oral Biology from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA (1992), and his Ph.D. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Dental School (2015).
He worked as a research fellow at the Brookhaven Laboratories in New York. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Ajman Dental School. He has worked as a clinical instructor at the University of Athens Dental School and as Assistant Prof. at the Pediatric Dentistry Department of the European University College in Dubai, UAE. He has taken part in two European research projects funded by the EU and in two National Pathfinder studies in Greece evaluating the oral health status and treatment needs in a Greek population. He has published in National and International journals and has lectured at National and International congresses and seminars.
His primary interests are dental informatics, caries diagnosis, prevention, and dental trauma. He is also co-author of the textbook “Dental Informatics, Principles, Means and Applications”. Dr. Berdouses has served as Secretary and Vice-President of the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry and as Secretary, President-Elect, and President of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Currently is the Past President of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the Board of the Emirates Pediatric Dentistry Club. But his primary joy is the communication with children in an attempt to improve their dental health in a safe and joyful environment.
