Appolonia World and Synergy Center hosted the First Dental Students' Symposium in the UAE

The first dental students' symposium, held at Vogo Hotel Abu Dhabi on April 21, 2024, was exclusively sponsored by Appolonia and supported by different organizations. The conference aims to build and promote a culture of scientific research and focus on the importance of evidence-based science in advancing and creating a generation capable of shaping the future of healthcare.


Led by Dr. Asma Al Nababteh, Head of Medical Education & Research and Specialist Pediatric Dentist, extended congratulations to the students, participants, and the organizers, underscoring Appolonia World Dentistry's leadership in supporting medical education as UAE's premier dental care. She expressed anticipation for their participation in Appolonia's 2nd research symposium next year.


The Chairman of Appolonia World Group and Synergy Centers, Dr. Yasser Haj Hamid, highlighted the value of progressing the medical field and inspiring the next generation to carry on the scientific research march. He further stated that all efforts to advocate science and disseminate knowledge in the healthcare landscape will receive full support in keeping with the UAE Vision's national agenda.


Distinguished researchers and specialists in the field of Medicine and Science community, including special guests Dr. Tahani Al-Qadri, director of academic affairs and Emiratization, Dr. Anas Al-Salami, assistant professor and director of Programs, Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and professor Dr. Hisham Meri, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, came together to commemorate the event.


Dr. Tahani Al Qadri commended the importance of such unique conferences and praised the influential role played by the responsible authorities in the UAE to  provide outstanding medical services that meet international standards and adopt innovative technologies.


Seventeen post-graduate students from renowned universities presented their research in front of the scientific committee, which evaluated their work and honored two winners at the end of the affair, receiving a cash prize of 10,000 AED and 5,000 AED, respectively. 


The 1st place winner was Dr. Mai Samara from the University of Sharjah with her research about the Effect of Phytic Acid on Mechanical Characterization of Endodontic Instruments, while the second place was Dr. Roghith Kannan from the Gulf Medical University with his work entitled: The Effectiveness of Three Rotary File Systems on the Elimination of Enterococcus faecalis in Single Rooted Teeth: An In Vitro Study. Among the participants are: Dr. Majd Saffarini, Dr. Haima Khafaii, Dr. Saja Shaath,  Dr. Marwa Abdullah, Dr. Mohammed Ayyash, Dr. Asma Khulaifi, Dr. Naser AlAdrah, Dr. Hussain Isbeih, Dr. Shahd ElBeshri, Dr. Tamara Maarouf, Dr. Sarah AlHalyan, Dr. Ahmed Ziad Zaki, Dr. Zainab Al Mosawi, Dr. Huda Abu Obeida, and Dr. Leina Idris.
