Appolonia world for Pediatric Dentistry participated in a training workshop with the International Special Olympics, which aims to apply behavioral analysis that focuses on providing ideal health care for people of determination. Appolonia Dental Clinic joined with Unified Healthcare training that touched on everything from applied behavioral analysis to compassionate care provision. Unified Healthcare offers medical professionals across the region access to the specialist training needed to care for People of Determination adequately.

Unified Healthcare is a specialized training program offered by specialized trainers to medical professionals (doctors, nurses, and technicians) and patient-facing staff (triage and reception). Its goals are to ensure that these professionals have a thorough understanding of DD and ID, give them the knowledge they need to make accommodations and modifications, and improve their capacity to provide POD with compassionate healthcare. Building high-performance leaders, medical teams, and cultures that are centered on inclusion and recognizing each person’s uniqueness is necessary to make healthcare more inclusive.

To ensure that the needs of POD with ID are understood at every level, the Unified Healthcare training matrix covers the training of decision-makers and leaders, medical technicians, doctors, and nursing staff, through to other patient-facing medical staff. As a result, these people are empowered to:

Provide a seamless and bespoke healthcare experience to POD reflecting their specific needs

Design processes and systems that factor POD needs and requirements

Collectively create a cultural shift at every level to operationalize inclusion across healthcare institutions in Abu Dhabi.
