“Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”

Women have the power to change and we see it happen all the time. International Women’s Day is commemorated in a variety of ways worldwide; it is our privilege to celebrate and promote the achievements of women. Appolonia encourages men and women to collaborate and connect to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.  

How Appolonia celebrates womens day is by giving surprise gifts, this day also gives us a chance to thank all the important women in our office. Gifting on this day is considered as a gesture to express love and gratitude towards these women. However, many of them might get puzzled about what gift should they be receiving.

Women’s Day was originally called ‘The working women’s day’ but later, it was renamed as Women’s Day. This day was first celebrated on February 28, 1909, in New York which was organized by the socialist party of America. Then in 1910, the International Women’s Conference was organized in which, socialists were impressed by the American socialists and proposed the establishment of International Women’s Day to appreciate the love and sacrifices of women all over the world. 

Appolonia strongly believes that “International Women’s Day is not only an occasion to celebrate the advances made towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, it is also an occasion to critically evaluate those achievements and strive for a greater momentum towards gender equality,”
